Comparison with Viduthalai Part 1 and Maharaja

While Viduthalai Part 2 performed better than the first part on Day 3 (which grossed only ₹5.05 crore on its third day), it still lags behind Maharaja, which had a stronger performance. On Day 3, Maharaja earned ₹9.65 crore, outpacing Viduthalai Part 2 by a significant margin.

The film had an overall 39.38% occupancy in Tamil cinemas on Sunday, a good sign that it is maintaining solid audience interest, particularly in the Tamil-speaking market. Vijay Sethupathi plays Perumal 'Vaathiyaar', the leader of the Makkal Padai, a group fighting against the system, while Manju Warrier portrays his wife, Mahalakshmi.
