Three Khalistan Zindabad Force Members Killed in Encounter in Pilibhit

On December 23, 2024, three individuals allegedly linked to a grenade attack in Gurdaspur, Punjab, were gunned down during an encounter with a joint team of Uttar Pradesh and Punjab police in Pilibhit. The deceased suspects were identified as Gurvinder Singh (25), Virender Singh alias Ravi (23), and Jaspreet Singh alias Pratap Singh (18), all from Gurdaspur.

Punjab’s Director General of Police, Gaurav Yadav, described the operation as a significant breakthrough against the Pakistan-backed Khalistan Zindabad Force (KZF) module. The attack, which had earlier targeted civilians in Gurdaspur, raised concerns over the resurgence of pro-Khalistan activities in the region.

The encounter took place in the early hours of Monday, when the police team tracked down the suspects in Pilibhit. The KZF, a banned separatist group, is known for its violent activities aimed at creating an independent Sikh state. The recent action has been hailed as a major blow to their operations.

The police remain vigilant as investigations into the grenade attack and the broader network behind the KZF continue.
